My career in construction and design began through a formative apprenticeship under James Toso, master carpenter and owner of TNT Contracting in Campbell River. Under his mentorship, I developed a deep respect for the discipline of fine carpentry and the enduring value of precision, craftsmanship, and thoughtful design. Those early years provided not only technical training, but also a philosophy of work rooted in integrity, patience, and pride in the finished product.

Over the decades that followed, I expanded my experience by working with a variety of construction companies while also undertaking freelance building projects of my own. This diverse professional path allowed me to cultivate a broad and comprehensive understanding of the construction industry. Through hands-on practice across many different environments and project types, I have developed a wide-ranging knowledge of building methods, structural design, and practical problem solving.

I have been fortunate to contribute to projects across multiple sectors of the industry, including residential, commercial, and civil construction. Each field demands its own standards, complexities, and creative solutions, and working within all three has provided me with a well-rounded perspective on how spaces are imagined, engineered, and ultimately brought to life.

Some of the work I hold closest to heart reflects both craftsmanship and scale. From crafting custom oak furniture installations within Campbell River City Hall, to contributing to major infrastructure projects such as the Port Mann Bridge, I have been privileged to play a role in projects that range from finely detailed interior craftsmanship to significant civic structures.

I approach these experiences with humility and gratitude. Every project, large or small, represents an opportunity to contribute something lasting to the community and to the built environment. The lessons learned throughout my career continue to guide my work today, shaping the way I approach design, construction, and collaboration with clients.
